Inspired Ideas Digital Magazine

I just bought my first copy of Inspired Ideas Digital Magazine by Inspire Co. It has lots of fun craft ideas and eye candy to browse through and get the creative juices flowing- perfect for a snowy day like today and I didn't even have to leave home to buy it!

Valentine Sweets for My Sweet Valentines

This is the adorable card I received from Elizabeth, of Bluebird Papercrafts, for participating in her Dolly Dingle Valentine Exchange.

This is like the one I made for her. You really should check out her blog to see all the Valentine goodness going on over there. Check out the links at the end of her Dolly Dingle post for even more fun!

But before you go, a little something I made a few years ago...

*Happy Homemaker Tag Along Swap, the fun continues!

Welcome! These are my "Material Girl" tags for February. Elizabeth suggested that we share the techniques we use on our tags. Mine are pretty simple really, and not too difficult to figure out, if I'd taken a close up shot, but it's late and the lighting is bad, so I'll just point out a few:

At Elizabeth's suggestion, I sandwiched a cereal box foundation for the tag between the background papers on the front and patterned paper on the back of the card. Then I stitched around the edge a couple of times.

The heart was also cut from a cereal box, then adhered to self-adhesive felt and cut out again. I used pearl cotton thread to hand stitch around the heart and secured the needle in the paper doll's hand for a fun affect.

To stick to my theme of using sewing notions on all of my tags, I also glued a teensy button to her dress and tied bows of pearl cotton to her pigtails.

That's it for this month! Maybe next month I'll take pictures of the steps involved in making the "Material Girls."

Thanks for stopping by,

*Sew* much fun

I'm having *sew* much fun with the Cosmo Cricket Material Girl collection! Besides using it all year for my Happy Homemaker Tag Along Swap theme,  I'll be using it for Valentines like these, and a few more to come.
