This morning...

I went out to the garden for my daily appointment with God. It's a commitment I made last September and one that I try my best not to miss. We usually meet in the spare room of my house, but the weather has been nice in the mornings lately so I decided to take advantage of that. As I sat there on my swing I couldn't help but think of this quote:

"One is nearer God's heart in a garden than anywhere else on earth." ~author unknown

It's such a lovely thought, but I'm so happy it isn't really true. My God is willing to meet with me anywhere and everywhere, and in fact, my heart is his home!

I love these guys!

"Christ said go and help the widows and the poor. It's really Christianity 101 and we should actually be doing it!" ~Duncan Phillips (of The Newsboys)

If you've been looking for a way to Go and Do you really should watch this video and check out this link. Then start praying about it for next summer...

They have a new CD out too!

I was checking out my Bloglines this morning when I came across the Poladroid Project at Vintage Pleasure's blog. It's very cool. And now I don't have to keep kicking myself for passing up that Polaroid Swinger (exactly like the one I had as a teenager) at our church garage sale a couple of years ago!

Sew busy!

I made this Jane Market Bag, another lunch size bag and a couple of little wallets this week. Feels good.

Happy Independence Day!

My childhood friends and me at the foot of Lady Liberty this January. Little did we know only three of us would remain by Mother's Day. Now those memories are even sweeter. Give your loved ones some extra hugs as you celebrate today!

*This little guy just informed me that this is his favorite holiday "because it involves explosions!"

Sweet signs of summer

It drizzled as I picked these from our backyard this morning, rained a little later, and it is still cloudy and gray, but these remind me that it really is summer despite what the weather is doing!
