WoW, 2 poSts iN 1 dAy!

This one is for Emily's 52 Questions - Year of Mini Art Journaling. Her fourth Q and my first tag. Yeah! And it puts me back in Hawaii. Double yeah!

Tomorrow I'm off to see my youngest for some girls-only-time this weekend. Hope you have a great one :D
I haven't wanted to post because it will take me one post further from Hawaii, but my DD Rachel tagged me a couple of days ago and is waiting, so Aloha, Hawaii post.

But I'm leaving the music on!

And I'm changing the rules of the tag.

'Cause I want to.

Here are the new rules:

1. Go to the section of your computer where you store all of your photos.
2. Select the 2nd folder.
3. Select the 2nd photo from that folder:

4. Post and explain that picture:

My picture happened to be one I took for the Day in My Life project. I had and have been eating oatmeal almost every morning in an effort to lower my cholesterol. Guess what? It worked! It went down 7 points, just like in the commercial!

Despite the fact that I had my blood work done not long after eating all of these:

And the rest of the batch.

And a ton of other December goodies.

5. Tag 2 other people:

M.Kate and Malissa, now it's your turn!

Another new friend :)

This little honu is about the size of a desert turtle, so I'm guessing he's pretty young. I spotted him while sitting on the beach watching the waves. I've been doing a lot of that since we got here. It's hard to tell from the picture, but his shell really blends in with the rocks he was feeding off. I got the biggest thrill watching him come up for air time and time again. Yeah, I'm easily entertained.

Can you tell?

I'm smitten by these little guys. This baby was in our hotel room until I rescued him.

There's snow in them thar mountains!

Well, actually, it's a volcano. Mauna Kea. Either way, it was a treat to see snow from the beach!

And our little gecko friend was at "our" picnic table again today. Just hangin'. Upside down.

Too pooped to post, but

I just had to share this pic of the little *visitor we had at the beach today.

* MaryKate,

It's hard to tell, but he's a gecko. He's about three and a half inches long. They are all over the place. John spotted this one. They are considered good luck here in Hawaii. Here's a picture of one licking ice cream off a trash can lid. I think they are cute as can be :D

Even in paradise it's not all sunshine and coconuts!

A huge storm blew in this morning bringing thunder and lightning with it!

The wind not only whipped the palm trees around, it also chilled me to the bone. Still, I'd rather be balancing my checkbook on our lanai in Hawaii then any place else right now.

Then it was on to Costco for groceries. Yep, even on vacation I've still gotta cook once in a while!

Shadow Shot Sunday

Tide pools at Kekaha Kai Beach on the Big Island of Hawaii... TFL!

Oh! Before you leave, I have a quick question. Does anyone know why I am getting shadows in the left hand corner of my photographs? They are more obvious in my previous post. I crop them out when I can, but I'd really like to know what is causing them in the first place. Thanks for any help or clues you have to offer!

Live Aloha, but

just in case you are tempted to take things a little too slowly, watch out! These just make me smile. Do any other states have or even need these?

I promise, I'm not nearly as close to these turtles at Punalu'u Black Sand Beach as I look. State law prohibits you from getting closer than 15 feet.

Did a little retail therapy at this shop in Hilo. They were actually closed, but they let me in anyway. I didn't feel like I should take too much of their time though, so I didn't get much. Not that I need more scrap stuff!

Spent this day doing another kinda therapy at Kekaha Kai beach, again! :D

And last but not least, a self portrait I actually like. Guess I need to get me a wind machine!

Shadow Shot Sunday

This one's for you M.Kate! I just barely dug my camera out of my purse in time to get this one as we landed in San Fransisco on our way to you know where.

Aloha!

We left this behind:
for this:

Even though the skies were gray at times today, and it even rained a bit, the air is warm and fresh and smells oh-so-good. And I am oh-so-happy to be here!
