a true bear story...

This may look familiar to you. I made this layout this weekend from a picture and story I used in this recent post. I was at Rachel's and got a bunch of cards made too. Fourteen, to be exact. That's a lot for me. I had a great time with her and my grandsons. We played Wii golf and baseball, watched Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium, ate lots of brownies and oranges, went to Josh's second grade program at school, and even hit the thrift store. Macs was quite the grandma's boy. Lots of hugs and kisses for me :):):) Yep, all that and scrapping too!

Today I've been thinking about my dad and mom a lot. It is, after all, Memorial Day! Hope yours was full of sweet memories, old and newly made.

Now I am off to look at some of these Virtual Party homes...

Welcome to Another Blog Party!

The lovely Marina from Argentina is hosting a "What Do You Like Best of Your Home Decoration? Party" on her blog, Only Cute Things. Thanks Marina, I LOVE blog parties!

I've been looking around my home with that question in mind and I've discovered a few things about myself.

First and second of all, I'm messy and I have LOTS of stuff. Actually, I've known those facts about myself for a long time, but it made it really hard to get decent pictures for this post!

Third, I've made a lot of that stuff, so the next time I'm feeling like I'm not being very productive I'll just take a closer look at what's right in front of my nose! This welcome sign is one example.

Fourth, I like my stuff. A lot.

And last of all, What I like Best of All About My Home Decoration is NOT the stuff, but the people and all the memories we've made here.

Art Journal inspiration

I "found" this video by Suzi Blu on one of Art Junk Girl's blogs, Journal Junk. This January Rachel started a journal challenge over on TallyScrapper. I was pretty excited to start it, but the reality is I've only finished one page! I'm hoping this is just the inspiration I need to move forward. Do you keep an art journal? Mrs. McDreamy?

John and I went to see Expelled this afternoon (great movie, btw) and this was there. He actually took a few pics of me with Mr. McDreamy! What a swell guy, huh? My DH I mean!

Christmas in May?

Nah... I just finished this Deck of Me card from Emily's Mini Art Journal Challenge last year. Slowly but surely I will finish my deck! Only nine more to go :)

Scrappy goodness

This weekend I went to a local scrapbook retreat and had a great time! I even got everything I took to work on finished! Like four of these 4" x 51/2" panels (front & back) that I made for the Birds & Bonnets Swap hosted by Beth and Karla. You can see what some of the other swappers have made over on flicker.

I made two of these "jeune amour/young love" ATCs. One for me and one to trade :) And a different one for my Deck of Me!

And this kinda funky snow layout with an African/flamingo theme. Plus one more layout that still needs journaling. Maybe I'll share that and some of the other goodies I made later :) Right now I need to get dinner...
