Christi's Circle Journal Page & Mine

I actually scrap lifted from myself to make Christi's page! I love doing that! Her theme is "My Family." It's a 7x7.

This is the one I made for me. The background is actually greenish/blue and matches the button!

7 rAnDom ThinGs

One of my all time favorite bloggers and scrappers, Kelli Crowe, tagged me the other day. I was so excited, but I've been avoiding doing my 7 rAnDom ThinGs. I think it has to do with being a perfectionist with a split personality and feeling rather boring! For example:

#1 - I LOVE reading random things about other people, but I HATE writing them about myself.

#2 - I LOVE it when people I've yet to meet leave comments on my blog, but I feel like a STALKER when I leave comments on theirs.

#3 - My husband retired recently and I LOVE having him home all the time, but I HATE having him home all the time. (Sorry, hon, if you are reading this! I really DO love you! I just miss my me time.)

#4 - I LOVE it when my scrap room is organized and ready for a creative moment to strike, but it usually looks like this:

#5 - I LOVE rainy days, but I also LOVE sunny days. (Not hot ones though.)

#6 - I LOVE it when the days get longer near the end of winter, but I also LOVE it when the days get shorter near the end of summer.

#7 - I LOVE the smell of beer, but can't stand the taste.

See what I mean? If you've read this far and want to share 7 rAndOm ThinGs about yourself, consider yourself tagged!

It's Bling Your Birdhouse Day

Karla is having another fun little blog party and this time Beth is joining in as co-hostess!
I didn't have time to go all out, so I thought I'd just share this faux birdhouse that I painted a few years ago and put on my mantle every spring. Mr. Bunny looks a little suspicious, but he truly is very happy that you hopped by. He just doesn't want to end up in a cage like that other bunny!

...he has risen, just as he said... Matthew 28:6

So why all the eggs? Because somehow they have come to symbolize Easter and Christ's resurrection, which is our only hope of forgiveness, and new life, and fresh beginnings.

And because they remind me of my grandma, which has nothing at all to do with Easter, except for the eggs! These are fresh from a friend's hens. They actually come and lay them in a bale of hay on her front porch! The basket belonged to my grandma. She lived in the city when I was young, but she had a large lot with a flower garden, vegetable garden, avocado tree, edible cactus, and a chicken house. She would send me out to gather eggs with this basket. Ah, what sweet memories!

Dear friend, I hope your Easter is full of sweet memories, forgiveness, new life, and fresh beginnings!

Dawn's Circle Journal Page

The journaling says, "You know you're a scrapbooker when you save everything and anything to use as embellishments on your layouts."
This is my page. I couldn't do the exact same page as the one I sent to Dawn because I used a plastic owl I found on the street to embellish hers! Mine just has a tag from a stuffed Hoops & Yoyo toy and a button.

Christine's Circle Journal Page

More accurately, this is my version of the layout I made for Christine. I played all weekend making copies of all the layouts I finished at the Dells so I can add them to my Tally Rally scrapbook. Seven more to go!

One of the other things I did this weekend was finish this book. Amazon recommended it for me because I'd ordered The Kite Runner from them. I loved them both, and now I can't wait to get and read her book, Snow Flower and the Secret Fan.

Tally Rally in the Dells

These are the wild and wacky Tally Scrappers I got to meet and form friendships with this past week at the Tally Rally in the Dells. I had an unimaginably fantastic time!
Some Leap Day fun. This is what the backside of the Magnolia Ridge Hideaway looks like in the winter. (The rows of windows are where we scrapped.)This the front of the house. These are the layouts I made for the Circle Journal exchange.
Who or what makes you smile when you are feeling blue?College years.Ten random things about yourself.Back where I come from.Tourist in my own town.
A day in my life.Puzzle piece that shows your style. (I don't think I have one particular style, so I used some of my favorite techniques & embellishments. Tearing, sewing, sanding, buttons & glitter.)
And the fun's not over yet since I still have a few more layouts to finish ;););)
