Praisin' Jesus With My Boys!

Love my Boys!

Newsboys for years, so when I heard that they would be in concert not too far from my home, I was disappointed that I wouldn't be able to go see them. That changed yesterday when I got tickets to go see them after all. One for me and one for another boy I love, my #1 grandson! He's excited to be going because one of his favorite groups, Kutless, is going to be opening for the Newsboys, and, of course, because he loves his gma!

Deck of Me Challenge #11 ~ Your initial

I'm not happy with the way these scanned, but, I don't have the time to take pictures of them and start over! On top of that, I'm still having problems with my server and/or blogger. Oh the joys of technology! Saturday, March 17, 2007
Deck of Me Challenge #10 ~ Note to self

I should have this "note to self" tattooed to my forehead! It is so important to me, and yet something I so easily forget. Thankfully, I am reminded of it nearly every time I visit my favorite blogs :))){This-this was what made life: a moment of quiet, the water falling in the fountain, the girl's voice...a moment of captured beauty. He who is truly wise will never permit such moments to escape. ~Louis L' Amour}

I *heart* all things mini

In the '90's I was into making and selling miniature jointed teddy bears. I even had a few in Teddy Bear & Friends magazine, my fifteen minutes of fame...lol... And I participated in email swaps. Kind of like ATC swaps. It was loads of fun and something I wouldn't mind doing again IF I had the time...
These two are about 3 & 1/2, and 2 & 1/2 inches tall. They are called "Sunday with Grandma" in memory of the times I went to church with my Grandma Lucy.

***I have been having A LOT of problems with my Internet provider. I can be right in the middle of something and suddenly lose connection. They tell me the problem won't be under control before the 20th of this month! In fact, I am having problems right now as I try to post this. Sooooooo, if I don't get my #10 Deck of Me card up before the #11, or I don't respond to your comments or email, now you know why! Sorry :( This problem has sure made me realize how addicted I am to you and my blogs!

Why my #10 Deck of Me card isn't finished yet...

I just had to post two pictures of the apron I made last night because I stayed up until 4am to finish it! Yikes! But... I have been wanting to make an apron to scrap in for ages so I am happy that I finally did it. There are so many cute ones popping up out there in blogland. When I saw the pattern for this one in the April*May 2007 issue of Mary Engelbreit's Home Companion I went right out and bought it at JoAnn's. The next day I made it :)))
FYI:
~The pattern I used is McCall's M4322.
~The floral fabric is reproduction flour sack from my LQS. The checked is from my stash.
~Some links to other scrappy aprons: Pam Garrison, two straight lines (on banner), Rebecca Sower, and Teresa McFadden

~Have you been bitten by the apron bug? Made any aprons? Please leave a link to your blog. I'd love to see it!

Deck of Me Challenge #9 ~ Inspiration found

This one was hard for me to narrow down because there are so many things that inspire me! While there is certainly a lot of inspiration to be found in all that God created, I think the things that inspire me most are the things that other people create. Maybe because I'll never be able to create something from nothing like he did! I spend a lot of time collecting and looking through books and magazines full of inspiration, but I was lacking motivation. That's where YOU come in. Being in this challenge has motivated me to start using some of those creative inspirations and make some art of my own! Now I look forward to looking at your creations every week, leaving words of encouragement, and, yes, receiving words of encouragement. So, thank YOU, thank YOU, thank YOU, for being my inspiration and motivation!

Hawaii, here we come!

Welcome Spring!!!

I don't know why, since it was actually snowing on and off just yesterday, but I feel like spring is in the air and just moments (not weeks) away! Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I picked up our tickets for Hawaii yesterday. Yippee! Maybe it has something to do with all the Easter goodies lining the store shelves already, and John brought me a box of purple pip chicks (see: "How we got our name" in the sidebar). I don't know. I'm just having a happy morning despite the fact that I woke up with a headache, need to pay bills, the sky is gray, and my house is a *mess*!
Oh, another thing that is making me happy is my country counter. It hasn't been up long, but I've already had visitors from ELEVEN countries! How cool is that? Thanks to everyone who has come to take a peek, and thanks to everyone who has left a comment. I try to get back to everyone who does, but there are a few of you that don't have blogs of your own, or for some other reason I can't figure out how to leave a comment. If that's you, please know that I've tried!
