Amazingly accurate!

I saw this on Rachel's blog and thought it would be fun to see what it said about me...

Your Lov..e Life is Like Casablanca

"Kiss me. Kiss me as if it were the last time."

For you, love is never finished. If you've loved someone once, you'll always love them.
You're an old fashioned romantic... even if your relationships don't end up as romantic as you'd like.

Your love style: Traditional and understated

Your Hollywood Ending Will Be: Complicated and ambiguous

Deck of Me Challenge #18 ~ Nature

A bit irreverent, what with nature being so awesome and all! But, I didn't think that any of my pictures or any one picture could do it justice, so I came up with this simple card. I cut this embroidered flower from a blouse I bought at a garage sale last summer. It has been waiting in my stash drawer for such a moment as this.

Vacation Update

I interrupt my busy schedule for this quick vacation update, since we were there for three weeks I have lots to share...

Everything went smoothly travel wise and we had a great time. Lots of sight seeing, shopping, and relaxing! I'll fill in the details with future updates. For now I leave you with this link KAPA RADIO, our favorite Big Island station. Aloha...

Deck of Me Challenge #17

This was the April 29th challenge: Bedroom, but as you can see from the journaling, it could easily pass for this weeks challenge: Surprise! Since I have another idea for that one I won't cheat and use this card for both!

Bring the Rain

Is it raining where you live? It is here. We are taking care of my MIL who is 93 years old and has Alzheimer's Disease. It's hard, really hard. My husband thinks I'm a saint. I KNOW I AM NOT! I know my heart. It wishes I could do what I want when I want! It acts just like a two year old, just like her. Unless... unless, I keep my eyes on Jesus. And his will. And his love. And his grace. And his mercy. I'm trying... because I know that drawing closer to him is the only way I will survive this storm. It's the way I've survived, and grown through, all the other storms in my life. I know there is a rainbow at the end of every storm. Even this one. And because he loves me and I love him I am learning to dance in the rain!

{Sing to God, sing praise to his name, extol him who rides on the clouds, -his name is the LORD- and rejoice before him. ~ Psalm68:4}

Are you a Martha or a Maxine?

*Martha's Way~ Stuff a miniature marshmallow in the bottom of a sugar cone to prevent ice cream drips.
*Maxine's Way ~ Just suck the ice cream out of the bottom of the cone, for Pete's sake! You are probably lying on the couch with your feet up eating it, anyway!

*Martha's Way ~To keep potatoes from budding, place an apple in the bag with the potatoes.
*Maxine's Way ~ Buy Hungry Jack mashed potato mix, keep it in the pantry for up to a year.

*Martha's Way ~
When a cake recipe calls for flouring the baking pan, use a bit of the dry cake mix instead and there won't be any white mess on the outside of the cake.
*Maxine's Way ~Go to the bakery! They'll even decorate it for you.

*Martha's Way ~ If you accidentally oversalt a dish while it's still cooking, drop in a peeled potato and it will absorb the excess salt for an instant "fix-me-up."
*Maxine's Way ~ If you oversalt a dish while you are cooking, that's too bad. Please recite with me the real woman's motto: "I made it and you will eat it and I don't care how bad it tastes!"

*Martha's Way ~ Wrap celery in aluminum foil when putting in the refrigerator and it will keep for weeks.
*Maxine's Way ~ Celery? Never heard of it!

*Martha's Way ~ Brush some beaten egg white over pie crust before baking to yield a beautiful glossy finish.
*Maxine's Way ~ The Mrs. Smith frozen pie directions do not include brushing egg whites over the crust so I don't.

*Martha's Way ~ Cure for headaches: take a lime, cut it in half and rub it on your forehead. The throbbing will go away.
*Maxine's Way ~ Take a lime, mix it with tequila, chill and drink!

*Martha's Way ~ If you have a problem opening jars, try using latex dishwashing gloves. They give a non-slip grip that makes opening jars easy.
*Maxine's Way ~ Go ask that very cute neighbor if he can open it for you.

*Martha's Way ~ Don't throw out all that leftover wine. Freeze into ice cubes for future use in casseroles and sauces.
*Maxine's Way ~ Leftover wine??????????? HELLO !!!!!!!

I just had to post this picture!

My dear friend, Ed, sent me this picture of his duck and her three day old ducklings. He has had a soft spot in his heart for ducks since we were in High School. Aren't they precious? (the ducks and Ed!)

{ He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. ~ Psalm 91:4}
